While various versions of Spider-Man and Deadpool had met in other issues - usually in storylines where Deadpool went into the past, or an alternate universe, or met an alternate version of Peter Parker - the two characters didn't cross paths in the prime Marvel continuity until 2006, with Cable/Deadpool #24. In that issue, Deadpool wasn't even trying to meet Spider-Man, but instead was trying to find another Daily Bugle reporter.
